Vintage Antonio Pineda Taxco Silver & Onyx Tie Clip

Vintage Taxco Sterling Silver and Onyx Modernist tie clip, by Antonio Pineda. Pineda was an internationally renowned Mexican modernist designer/silversmith who was known for his bold and striking designs. He was a member a small cadre of brilliant silversmiths living and working in Taxco, Mexico who became internationally known in the 40s–70s. In good vintage condition. Small crack in onyx stone, minor scratches, wear and patina consistent with age and use. Stamped on back with "Sterling Mexico", "Silver", a crown including the artist's name and word Taxco within, the eagle stamp and 975 stamp indicative of Mexican Taxco Sterling Silver. Measures: approximately 0.5" x 2".
