TipTop Acorn Squash is a tender bushy annual that are ready for harvest in 80-100 days. These rounded 2-3lb black-green fruits have smother buttery yellow flesh that has a mild earthy and nutty flavor. Best harvested at when the 'ground spot' turns gold or orange. The large yellow tubular flowers that bloom in mid summer are also edible. Best grown on trellises in full sun and rich, moist well-drained acidic soils. Intolerant of frost, sow after soil is over 70F and harvest before first hard frost. TipTop has improved resistance to powdery mildew.
