Paul Pillot Saint Aubin 1er Cru Les Pitangerets

2024 Wine Advocate 90-92: From a cool, hard-limestone site on the Chassagne-Montrachet side, the 2024 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Pitangerets unfolds aromatically in the glass with notes of nashi pear, white flowers, lemon oil and peach, followed by a medium-bodied, chalky and incisive palate, built around a crisp core of fruit and bright acidity, concluding in a precise, saline finish. This contrasts with his more textural, generous Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Charmois, which derives from clay-rich soils. Vinous 91-93: The 2024 Saint-Aubin Pitangerets has quite a lot of reduction on the nose but there is real intensity behind it. The palate is well balanced with fine poise, very fresh and sapid with a persistent finish. Excellent though the Les Charmois shows a little more verve.
