Winsor & Newton Artists’ Oil Colour Demonstration Oil colour has been around for 600 years but it can still be daunting. Luckily Winsor & Newton has been at it for long time too! If you’ve wanted to dive into oil painting but don’t know where to start, this demonstration with Olivia Di Gregorio will help take the mystery out of the materials and the painting process. All 133 of the Artists’ Oil Colours have the highest level of pigmentation consistent with the broadest handling properties which gives artists excellent covering power and tinting strength. Artists in attendance will learn rules such as fat over lean that will help them create paintings of long- lasting permanence as well as fundamentals of colour mixing, pigment characteristics and introduction to Winsor & Newton Liquin alkyd mediums. Join Olivia and show up with your oil painting questions so she can help you on your oil painting journey. Who is this for? Artists, hobbyists and beginners interested in exploring oil painting, or getting a little technical refresher. About your instructor Olivia Di Gregorio is an internationally exhibited and published artist in Toronto, having graduated from OCAD University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Design in Illustration, and a minor in Drawing & Painting. Since graduating, Di Gregorio was chosen as a finalist in the Traditional Art category for the Beautiful Bizarre Magazine Art Prize in 2021, and has exhibited work in international galleries from San Francisco, Denver, South Korea, and the UK. Her paintings have also been published in Supersonic Art, and BOOOOOOOM’s ‘Tomorrow’s Talent’ Vol. II, and Vol. III.
