Orlegi de Luberri Rioja Cosecha 2024 (Rioja, Spain)
Florentino Martinez Monje, owner and winemaker, has long used a non-interventionalist approach to his vineyards. He prefers the fruit to grow naturally in accordance with the microclimate in Elciego, a town within Rioja Alavesa. He keeps yields low, utilizes whole-cluster fermentation for some of the grapes, uses indigenous yeasts, and ensures that the fruit is concentrated and healthy. The result? Lots of juicy dark red fruit with light acidity and pops of spice. In other words, a young classic Tempranillo that is food friendly and perfect for everyday drinking. Food Ideas: paella, tamales, mulligatawny stew, grilled snapper, cheese plate, chili, spicy tempeh with garlic curry noodles Alcohol: 14.5%
