Gibson A-4 Mandolin 1922
From right on the cusp of the much-valued (and appropriately so) Lloyd Loar period of Gibson mandolins comes this beautiful 1922 A-4. It’s in absolutely lovely, excellent-plus condition with not a crack nor an issue anywhere. The finish is 99% there and still shiny; the frets are 99% and virtually unworn and unplayed; the tuners, bone nut, adjustable ebony bridge and tailpiece with its original "The Gibson” script embossed cover are all intact and about perfect. Heelcap an extremely clever undetectable replacement. We’ve made the small action adjustments called for after 94 years right here in our own shop and nicer playability could not be asked for. Comes with its original hard shell case of course. $3295 w/ohsc
