It can be produced pre-harvest in the field and post-harvest in storage. Stress conditions on the plant during high heat and drought conditions contribute to the development of these molds. It is essential that grain handlers know what levels of Aflatoxin might be present in the grain they are receiving. As an example, the maximum allowable limit set by the USDA is 20 ppb for dairy. The AgraStrip® test kits are ready-to-use lateral flow devices (LFD) for on-site testing. These allow a rapid analysis of a wide range of food and feed samples with an assay time of three minutes. The AgraStrip® WATEX® is a fast and reliable water-based mycotoxin test kit that enables the testing for multiple mycotoxins from the same sample extract. Quantitative (ppb or ppm readings) are used with the Agra Vision™ reader to provide consistent results for documentation.
