SER118c Seraphinite Cabochon

This polished Seraphinite cabochon displays solid green with fibrous sprays of metallic chatoyancy. The back has a chip in the stone along the curved edge, which would be covered with a metal setting, but may require more work to cover with a wire-wrapped setting. 30mm x 31mm Designer Cabochons: The Gem Shop, Inc. produces free form designer cabochons for the custom metal smith, hobbyist, and collector. From Russia, Seraphinite is a type of clinochlore that is named for its feathery appearance - drawing from the biblical seraphim angels. The mineral grows in massive form within metamorphic rock and consistently shows shades of forest green with silvery chatoyancy in radiating plumes.
