Day/Time Wednesday, 11am-12:30pm Monthly Enrollment Apr: 4/1, 4/8, 4/15, 4/29 May: 5/6, 5/13, 5/20, 5/27 Jun: 6/3, 6/10, 6/17, 6/24 Experience Open to all (Recommended for seniors) Description - Learn the basics of the various styles of taiko drumming - This recreational class series will teach fundamentals and techniques at a pace slower than other taiko courses at our facility - Experience taiko in a fun environment through various mind and body workouts - Available for enrollment/commitment on a monthly basis April Topic: Beta Fundamentals ~Dokokara~ Instructor: Masa Note: "Beta" -- the drum is placed vertically and the hitting surface is parallel to the floor; the most basic style of taiko. "Dokokara", a composition by Yuta Kato, draws its name from taiko syllabary, where “doko” means two strikes in the center of the drum and “kara” is two on the rim.
