With a brewery, ice cream and pizza, as well as many restaurants to choose from, there is something for everyone. TOUR START DAY 2: 10:00 AM This tour (40-54 miles round trip) starts and ends in Waterville, at the trail parking lot. Highway 60 to Highway 13; 1/4 mile north on 13 to Hamilton St. We will be on the western-most end of the trail starting from Waterville and traveling to Mankato. Today we pass through Elysian, Madison Lake, Eagle Lake before dipping down into Mankato. There will be options to stop in Mankato or to return to any of the towns we pass through on this segment. Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail is a paved, multiple-use trail developed on 39 miles of an abandoned railroad grade. It is generally level and wheelchair accessible. Horses are allowed on the Sakatah, however there is not a separate trail from the paved trail. Users should pick up after their horses. The state park offers a separate bicycling campground, picnic grounds, boat access and additional hiking trails. There are several other lakes and public parks within an easy ride of the trail. The trail lies in the transition zone between what was once the "Big Woods" and the vast prairies. You’ll still find remnants of these plant communities scattered throughout what is now cultivated land. Find the Ride with GPS routes here.
