Lecturer: Jay Lord Sat 23 May, 30 May & Sat 13 Jun 9.30am – 4.30pm Level: Intermediate to Advanced Age – 18+ This is an adult class and is only suitable for students 18 years of age and older. An intermediate realist portrait oil painting workshop focused on the use of a 19th century French underpainting technique called an Ebauche. This French technique is essentially a looser full colour underpainting, which creates a deeper and more luminous look to the finished painting and generally results in a much faster process. Working from a photographic reference, students will complete a finished portrait painting, but with a strong emphasis on process. This hands-on course will encompass Jay Lord’s entire painting process from start to finish; photographic reference will be supplied. As this is an intermediate course, prior oil painting experience and knowledge is expected and is 18+. Feel free to use the paint brands that you prefer, but I do encourage the use of the specific ones I have listed if you can.
