PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION - RX Required Depo-Medrol (methylprednisolone acetate) is a long-acting corticosteroid used to treat a variety of inflammatory and allergic conditions in both dogs and cats. It is particularly effective in managing skin conditions, arthritis, and allergic reactions. Uses: Management of allergic and inflammatory conditions Treatment of arthritis and other joint issues Control of skin conditions such as dermatitis and hot spots Management of certain autoimmune diseases Dosage Information: Administration: Depo-Medrol is administered as an intramuscular or subcutaneous injection by a veterinarian. Dogs: - Initial Dose: 0.5 to 1 mg per pound (1 to 2 mg/kg) of body weight - Maintenance Dose: Adjusted based on the dog's response to therapy, usually every 2 to 4 weeks Cats: - Initial Dose: 0.5 to 1 mg per pound (1 to 2 mg/kg) of body weight - Maintenance Dose: Adjusted based on the cat's response to therapy, typically every 3 to 4 weeks Precautions: Use only as directed by a veterinarian.
