Original Painting titled Catching a Lift SOLD

Brand: PJ Paintings

It is difficult to fly in the rain. Your feathers gets soggy, then your wings are heavier and harder to flap, so this little bird has decided to catch a lift on this passing-by wombat. While being in this elevated position, it plucked a blooming flower to get a little shelter from the spring showers and dry out its wings. I titled my painting "Catching a Lift"© Pink robins are gorgeous little robins, which I have been lucky enough to view in the wild. https://birdlife.org.au/bird-profiles/pink-robin/?srsltid=AfmBOoqzpdOGDGvXwTRctjlpiG-BDuUDeblLK0C9e_eFkbm47FjLaugj And wombats, who could not love wombats! I have also had the great privelege of enjoying seeing them in the wild too. I actually have had the company of one for about an hour, while I was drawing outside. It munched on grass about a metre and a half from me the entire time I was sitting on my stool drawing. I thanked it several times aloud for keeping me company. It just ignored me and munched away. I drew my picture freehand, as I do all of my artwork, and painted this cheery scene on Clairefontaine 300gsm cold pressed watercolour paper. It is approximately 15 x 21 cm.
