The availability of top quality English Rum, made from scratch in the UK, is growing slowly but steadily. We are beginning to see cask aged expressions with several years of age on them. This trio contains three wonderful examples from Oxfordshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire: Abingdon Distillery Triple Wood 3 Year Old Aged Rum, 70cl Owner and Head Distiller Jordan spent 2 months picking from the distillery’s best casks to make this 3yr old rum from three different cask types: ex-bourbon, new American Oak and new Spanish Oak. The ratios of aged rum between the three cask types have been carefully finessed to achieve the optimal balance. Bottled at 42% Alc. TASTING NOTES Nose: Green banana, grilled pineapple, butterscotch. Palate: Dark chocolate, vanilla, tropical fruit. Finish: Toffee, ginger, stewed raisins. Dropworks Distiller's Drop, 70cl A unique, small-batch cask release crafted for those who love rich, full flavoured rum; matured for 28 months in Bordeaux red wine casks and bottled in February 2026. The wine-infused oak enriches this British-made rum with vibrant notes of wild strawberries, a crackle of black pepper, and the caramelised snap of crème brûlée. Bottled at a confident 50.7% ABV, this latest expression marries elegance with intensity yielding a bold yet beautifully balanced rum that showcases just how exciting cask maturation can be. Distiller’s Drop #002 was distilled in copper and matured for 28 months in Bordeaux red wine casks from the Fronsac region of France, which previously held Merlot wine for five years. The wine-seasoned oak brings a vibrant new dimension to rum, adding depth of colour and layers of flavour. White Peak Distillery Cask Aged Rum, 50cl White Peak Distillery Cask Aged Rum is an authentic, small-batch Derbyshire Cask Aged Rum. Agricole style with funky notes of crème caramel and smoke, with a sweet vanilla finish. No added flavourings, sugar or colour, the golden hue comes solely from the oak cask. Enjoy neat, or with ginger beer and a wedge of lime. Gold Medal IWSC 2025. A rum to savour. A long 30-day fermentation gives White Peak Rum real depth of flavour and complexity, all coming from the distilled spirit. Batch 05/24 is a vatting of 3 unique casks. Ex-bourbon from Heaven Hills distillery, virgin oak cask with a level 4 char from Kelvin Cooperage and an ex-red wine cask (STR) from Dias Cooperage in Portugal. The 3 different cask maturations contribute to the complexity and layers of flavour from nose to finish. An amazing rum to drink neat or add ginger ale and a wedge of lime for a longer drink.
