Driftwood Heron by Noble Needham 12 l x 5 w x 10 h (inches approximately) Growing up on the Big Rideau Lake in Portland, Ontario, Noble Needham developed a great love and respect for nature. After years of carving decoys for his personal use, his family finally persuaded him to share his talent. Starting with the foraging of fields, lakes and streams, the wood is selected with an artist’s eye. It is uniquely handcrafted, first by nature, and then by the artist. Each piece is hand carved and signed. A brief description of the type of wood and where it was found is given on the bottom of the work. Noble Needham sources driftwood from various Canadian locations, including Marsh Lake, Yukon.
