One of the few sustainably harvested frankincense species, a precious material with rare provenance. Perfumer's Note: If Frankincense papyrifera is mostly associated with churches, then Rivae should be known as the resin for the mystics and heretics alike. Connecting with subconscious, underworld, dreams. Jung-coded. A very unusual Frankincense. Rivae resin flows freely from the trees and is tediously harvested by hand by semi-nomadic pastoral tribes. One of the only of its species to offer its resin freely, without the need for tapping. Tapping Frankincense trees has caused tremendous stress on the species, many becoming threatened with endangerment due to unsustainable demand. Very happy to be able to offer such a prolific aromatic that is completely sustainable while also supporting indigenous harvesters and taking needless stress off of over-harvested species. Note: Since it's made from whole resin, there is a very slight stickiness on initial application that fades.
