Shepherds crook bird feeder 2.25 metre 10mm metal bar Black A double hooked shepherds crook bird feeder made from 10mm round bar with 2 stabilising feet in 8mm bar on the base pole. Standing at 2.25 metres tall, these are made with the additional hook opposite each other or lower down. Much stronger and sturdier heavy duty shepherds crook than the 8mm crook, this is the version you want and it comes with 2 stabilising feet in 8mm bar on the base pole. They are capable of holding weights up to 1 kg with only a slight deflection. Single Hook Load testing with 25cm of the crook inserted into friable garden bed soil (non clay), the weight was hung on one of the hooks with: 600g load, there was approximately 1cm deflection 1 kg load, there was appoximately 3cm deflection (deflection being the lean measured, at the top, from being straight with no weight applied vs load applied) The crooks are made in 2 sections with a metal sleeve welded to one section. The other section is inserted into the sleeve and if left, over time it will slowly form a rust bond.
