Green Zoanthids Coral Care Tips: Category: Soft Care Level: Beginner Diet: Light, Reef Roids, Brine Shrimp, Mysis Shrimp Temperament: Peaceful Tank Placement: Low – Middle Lighting: Low to High Water flow: Low to Moderate Colours: Green and white Green Zoanthids are a green and white type of zoanthid that is often referred to as “Green Bay Packers Zoa’s”. Zoanthids are a soft coral that are easy to take care of and have a peaceful temperament. They can be placed anywhere in your tank and do well in low to high light settings. Higher light settings will promote brighter colors while lower light settings will promote growth for a larger head size but will eventually dull the brightness of your zoanthids. A low to moderate water flow is suited for zoanthids. Lower flow settings will allow for longer stalks to grow while higher flow settings will cause the stalks to remain shorter. Zoanthids do not require but will benefit from feedings including coral food (reef roids), brine shrimp, and or mysis shrimp. While there are a few genus of Zoanthids most seen in the hobby are from the Zoanthus category. Since Zoanthids have no skeleton, they encrust themselves onto living and dead substrates but will rarely attach themselves onto a sandy bottom making them the perfect candidate for island corals.
