Welcome to the Working in Home Care: An Overview (Support at Home Series) course. This course helps Home Care workers understand the laws and standards that guide Support at Home Services in Australia. This course contains 3 modules: (SAH-ACS) The Aged Care Sector: An Overview for Home Care Workers (approx. 15 mins) (SAH-HCCOC) The Code of Conduct for Home Care (approx. 30 mins) (SAH-ACQSO) The Aged Care Quality Standards: An Overview for Home Care Workers (approx. 50 mins) To complete this course, you must successfully complete all the modules above. Module 1 of 3: The Aged Care Sector: An Overview for Home Care Workers It contains information about: Name the laws and legislation that govern aged care in Australia Apply the laws and legislation in a home visit to choose safe, rights based actions and record them Use the decision aid to know when to seek consent and escalate risk Module 2 of 3: The Code of Conduct for Home Care After completing this module, you will be better able to: Explain the purpose of the Code of Conduct in connection with the Statement of Rights and the Aged Care Quality Standards Outline the requirements of all eight elements of the Code of Conduct Interpret whether actions are appropriate under the Code of Conduct Module 3 of 3: The Aged Care Quality Standards: An Overview for Home Care Workers After completing this module, you will be better able to: Explain the role of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Express the importance of the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards Outline the 5 strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards that apply to home care Apply Standards 1 to 5 in the home through person-centred care, a focus on wellness and reablement, and partnership with the person and their supporters Course Code: SAH-WHC
