The cuvée is named 'Vertige' because it comes from the granite quarries of Leynes. Leynes sits exactly on the fault line between the Beaujolais granite and the clay-limestone soils from Burgundy. That makes this wine a great blind tasting contender as it has its very own identity. Note that this is not an oaked Chardonnay, yet it has that very recognizable apple and nuts profile and a slightly lighter creamy texture than the Saint Véran (more oaked Chardonnays). Region: Burgundy, Mâconnais Grape: 100% Chardonnay Alcohol: 12% Total SO2: 28 mg/L Service: 6/10°C Tech facts: 2024 was a rather fresh vintage. Manual harvest. Spontaneous fermentation. Aged for one year on the lees in enamel-lined tanks. No SO2 added during pressing, natural malolactic fermentation. Bottled with a pinch of sulphur. No herbicides, no mineral fertilisation, no pesticides. 35 years old vineyards. Yield is 30hL/h. Bottled without fining and filtration.
