Vintage Bisque Porcelain Pig Money Bank | Anthropomorphic Piggy Bank | c.1950s–60s

A mid-century bisque porcelain money bank in the form of a standing pig dressed in blue-striped dungarees and a flat cap, with hand-painted features — large lashed eyes, red-tipped snout and open mouth. The coin slot is positioned at the back of the head; the base retains a rubber stopper plug. The unglazed bisque finish gives a soft, matte quality typical of Continental European novelty ceramics of the 1950s and 60s. The style is consistent with pieces produced in West Germany or Japan during this period for the gift and toy market. No maker’s mark visible. Good condition — no chips or damage.
