Pomegranate Face Earrings

These ruby red pomegranate earrings are the perfect way to celebrate the return of Spring and the end of winter in Hades (at least according to Persephone.) A Each one of these perfect Pomegranate Face Earrings was hand-painted in honor of trailblazing Dutch artist Gesina ter Borch. Gesina was an artist in 1600s Netherlands, at a time when women were barred from being in the guilds or even apprenticing. Despite these disadvantages, Gesina left a stunning portfolio of paintings and calligraphy that is now in the Rijksmuseum - the same museum that holds the works of Van Gogh, Vermeer and Rembrandt. A few details: Each earring is individually hand-painted, so two earrings are exactly alike. These Pomegranate Face Earrings come in 2 sizes: the large measure about 2.5 inches from top of the leaf to the bottom of the pomegranate; the small are about 2 inches. The earring posts are titanium, which is nickel free and safe for most people with skin sensitivities.
