7 week Pottery Course Voucher

Come to Bristol Pottery Workshops for a Wednesday pottery hand building and throwing course! Fun, hands-on pottery classes focused on throwing on the potters whee and hand building techniques. You will learn the steps of throwing on the potters wheel to make bowls, mugs and more from start to finish – centring, pulling up walls and shaping the clay. Then you will refine the shapes that you make with a trimming technique known as turning. We have a wonderful selection of glazes to enable you to put the finishing touches to your work. There will be a wheel for each person for the entire session. You will also learn how to use hand-building to make sculptural and functional forms using different techniques such as coiling and slabbing. Suitable for: All levels of ability. Perfect if you are new to pottery or to see if you want to try out pottery again! What’s Included: – Your own potters wheel (available to use at any time for the duration of the course) – A wide selection of tools to use – Unlimited clay, only keep what you want, we recycle any items that you don’t want to keep. – Lots of guidance for beginners or less if you want space for creative freedom. – A wide selection of glazes made in-house Sustainable Practice: At Bristol Pottery Workshops we prioritise sustainability! You can recycle clay an unlimited amount of times before it’s fired, and so we charge for items separately to make sure that pots don’t get left behind! Items are priced at £16 per kg (as some students make larger items than others) to cover our materials, firing and processing costs. Duration: 2.5 hours. Read our Terms before attending.
