At The Second Hand Club, we are proud to present one of the most audacious and intellectually fascinating watches ever produced by François-Paul Journe: the F.P. Journe FFC in platinum. Born from a dinner conversation between Journe and filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola in 2012, the FFC displays the hours through the articulated fingers of a sculpted titanium hand, counting from one to twelve using a system of dactylonomy, the ancient practice of finger counting. Housed in a 42 mm platinum case just 10.7 mm thick, the watch is powered by the self-winding Calibre 1300.3 in 18k rose gold, the same Octa-based architecture that underpins some of Journe's most celebrated complications, here adapted to drive a system of ten cams beneath the dial that choreograph the hand's movements every sixty minutes. With annual production estimated between ten and fifteen pieces due to the extraordinary complexity of assembly, and a one-of-one blue-dialled prototype having sold for CHF 4.5 million at the Only Watch 2021 auction, the FFC stands as one of the rarest and most conceptually original watches in contemporary haute horlogerie.
