Sarracenia 'Wizard's Sleeve' is a cultivar selected by Jerry Addington of Courting Frogs Nursery in the USA. It is best known for its unusual pitcher shape, combining strong height with a dramatically elongated and twisted lid. Pitchers are tall and upright, with a smooth green tube that remains relatively uncluttered by heavy pigmentation. Fine veining is present throughout the upper section, becoming more visible towards the throat and lid. The mouth is broad and open, giving the upper pitcher a spacious appearance that contrasts with the narrow, elegant tube below. The most recognisable feature is the lid. Rather than lying flat or arching gently forward, it extends outward into a long, flowing structure that often twists and curls at the tip. Mature pitchers can develop pronounced waves and folds along the lid margins, creating a shape that is rarely seen in other Sarracenia cultivars. This unusual form resembles a flowing sleeve from a wizard's gown, giving rise to the cultivar name. Colouration changes through the season. Fresh growth often emerges pale green with light veining, while mature pitchers develop darker tones around the throat, lip, and lid. In strong light, the upper portion can take on shades of burgundy, purple, and deep red, contrasting with the greener lower tube. Growth is vigorous, with the plant producing large pitchers that hold their shape well.
