Guarnizo Familia, Filter - Colombia
This new release comes from the highlands of Tarqui in Huila, Colombia, where the Guarnizo family has built a reputation for collaboration, craftsmanship and exceptional coffee. Across the rolling hills of Tarqui, ten siblings, nine brothers and their sister, Orfandy, cultivate coffee on neighbouring farms. While each farm is independently managed, the family works closely together throughout cultivation, processing and quality control, creating a shared approach that has become central to their success. This lot is led by Wilmar Guarnizo, who inherited his farm, La Vega, in 2002. At the time, the land had no coffee planted. Through years of dedication, Wilmar transformed the farm into a thriving coffee operation while sharing his knowledge of cultivation, fermentation and processing with his siblings, helping elevate quality across the family’s farms. Rather than marketing their coffees individually, the family has chosen to unite under the name Guarnizo Familia, a reflection of the collective effort behind every harvest. This coffee is both vibrant and elegant, with notes of stone fruit, sweet melon, ripe cherry and black tea, delivering a cup of remarkable clarity, sweetness and complexity.
