Morning, c. 1960 Artist: Joseph Meert (1905-1989) Oil on canvas 72 x 50 inches Signed lower right Meert studied at Kansas City Art Institute and at Art Students League with Benton, Sloan and Boardman Robinson. Benton considered Meert his best student and had him take over his classes at Kansas City Art Institute while Benton did the Missouri capitol murals. Meert participated in the Works Progress Administration by painting 3 murals.
