About the Artist Lucy Rice is an artist living in a small bay north of Auckland with her 3 small children. She was inspired to paint by her mother, and so many of her works have a nostalgic undertone. Lucy has a BFA from ELAM School of Fine Art and a decade of experience as a wedding & portrait photographer. Lucy works with acrylics & mixed media to create intuitive abstract pieces with soft pastel tones. Her paintings play with the idea of physical & emotional landscapes as one. She is interested in the way colour balances each other on a painting & the healing properties of colour in a room. Natural earth elements, forms & metaphysics play a huge part in her work.
