Born in 1984, Karen comes from a family of talented Utopian artists including her Sisters, Rosie and Jessie Bird. She lives in Akaye Soakage in the Utopian Region of Central Australia. Her artwork showcases the stories of Awelye (Women's Ceremonies and body paint) and Bush Tucker, particularly the Alpar (rat tail bush medicine plant) which reflects her cultural heritage and artistic talent. Karen was taught the traditional stories, songs and dances of Utopia from her Father.
