Early Franks

COMING SOON: Early Franks We are really pleased to be able to show you some of the Early Franks we have been working on. These are from the Late Roman era, or the 'Age of Invasions', and are ready to wreak havoc upon the overstretched Roman border defences. The Franks were a Germanic tribe who migrated into the province of Gaul and took it over as a Warrior aristocracy during the 4th and 5th Centuries. They were primarily an infantry army and they used weapons such as the heavy throwing spear called an Angon and a heavy throwing axe called a Francisca (from which the Franks got their name. They would deliver a wild charge, hurling Angons and Franciscas and close with their long German swords. We are really excited about this new range and to add some new protagonists to our very extensive Late Roman and Early Saxon line.
