Rare Texcoco Serape
Circa 1930s-1950s, central Mexican camp blanket. A disciplined, spare arrangement, profound indigo center with wide stepped border. The indigo has aged into a deep teal cast, a tone familiar in older pieces. Woven in a wide single width on a treadle floor loom. Woven entirely with soft single-ply yarns. Dense weave with light, flexible hand. Very good condition. Two small areas of minor discoloration. Structurally sound. Would live well on the wall or bed. Please inquire for display.
