Paper Boxes Workshop with Maho Motoyama

Children over the age of 10 are welcome (With an adult guardian) Workshop Description: This is a workshop where you’ll use handmade Mexican and Japanese papers to create geometric paper sculptures from flat patterns. You’ll cut out the flat patterns yourself, score the folds, and assemble the sculptures on your own. We’ll carefully guide you through the steps, tips, and tools needed to assemble them neatly Since we will use textured paper, the finished sculptures have a unique charm, and they’re small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, so you can display them and enjoy them as decorations. About the instructor: Maho Motoyama is a designer exploring the creative possibilities of paper through graphic and three-dimensional design. After earning her master's degree from Tokyo Metropolitan University, she worked at Nippon Design Center's Misawa Design Institute before becoming an independent designer in 2023. Her practice includes exhibition design, window displays, paper sculptures, and original paper box creations. Refund Policy: No refunds on cancellations that occur within two weeks of workshop day.
