Pure Brass Buckle Leather Belt

A buckle cast in solid brass — not plated, not coated. Brass right through, so a scratch shows brass underneath. It warms and darkens alongside the leather instead of flaking away from it. Which width? 35 mm — for the office. Dress trousers and suit trousers are made with narrower loops, and a 35 mm strap slips through them and sits flat under a jacket. This is the belt for a shirt tucked in. 40 mm — for everything else. Jeans, chinos and cargos are cut with wider loops, and a narrow belt looks lost in them. 40 mm fills the loop properly and carries the weight of a heavier trouser without rolling. If you are only buying one, buy the width you wear five days a week. The leather Ceylon leather, semi-vegetable tanned, tanned and made in Sri Lanka. One solid piece at 3.5–4 mm — the thickest, strongest part of the hide. Nothing glued, nothing split, nothing bonded.
