Man Ah Warrior

Originally released in 1973, Tapper Zukie's debut album Man Ah Warrior is a cornerstone of early reggae deejay music. Its stripped-back production and commanding vocal style helped establish a blueprint that would influence generations of artists. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Tapper Zukie first gained attention during a UK tour with U-Roy, before recording 'Jump and Twist' with producer Larry Lawrence. Sessions with producer Clement Bushay followed, resulting in the nine tracks collected on Man Ah Warrior. Raw, direct and timeless, it remains one of the essential albums of 1970s roots reggae.
