ÄLG Performance D3 and D4 EGR Blanking Plate. Designed for selected Volvo D5204T and D5204T5 engines, this stainless steel plate provides a simple and reliable way to block exhaust gas flow through the EGR system on modified, competition and off-road vehicles. Volvo’s five-cylinder diesel engines are well regarded for their durability and tuning potential, but the factory Exhaust Gas Recirculation system continually feeds exhaust gases back into the inlet tract. Over time, this can contribute to soot and carbon build-up throughout the EGR valve, pipework and intake manifold. Manufactured from 1.5 mm stainless steel, the blanking plate is resistant to heat and corrosion and installs directly at the EGR flange without requiring permanent modification to the original pipework. It is particularly suited to tuned D3 and D4 builds where the EGR system has been correctly disabled within the ECU calibration. Depending on the vehicle and software version, fitting a full blanking plate without appropriate ECU calibration may trigger an engine management light or EGR-related fault code.
