Vintage Copper Earrings

There is a silence in this one that I did not expect—it simply emerged from the copper. I carve each groove by hand into the surface of the ring, diagonal by diagonal, as the polished line catches the light on the matte background. The contrast has always been the goal: something a little wild held within something round and complete. People who wear copper close to their skin usually notice certain things. A softness, somewhere. A stability they can’t quite put into words. I have heard it often enough by now that it no longer surprises me. I hope this finds its way to someone who knows how to appreciate quiet things. Material: 99.9% pure copper
