Born in Havana and classically trained at the Amadeo Roldán National Conservatory, Tacoronte has developed a distinctive musical voice that brings the essence of Cuban traditions into dialogue with Spanish flamenco and other Latin American influences. Tacoronte is joined by multi-instrumentalist Michael Rush on upright bass, renowned in Vancouver’s local jazz scene, and Jeremy Berkman, principal trombonist with the Vancouver Opera Orchestra.
