SÉGOU

A study in indigo and natural cotton, the Ségou is cut from hand-patterned Baulé fabric with an organic arrangement of resist-dyed markings that makes every hat slightly different. The deep blue ground and undyed patterning give it the character of something collected rather than manufactured—an old textile language translated into a decidedly modern five-panel. Named for Ségou, the historic Malian city on the Niger River, this is a hat with a strong sense of place and an easy disposition. Each piece is cut and sewn in a limited run, ensuring the subtle variations in dye and pattern remain intact. No two caps are identical. Produced in small batches and released infrequently, the Ségou hat reflects the BOBBYJOSEPH approach to making: deliberate, textile-first, and rare by design.
