Apeiron Kithara

A variation on a familiar theme. The Apeiron Kithara carries the same twin-spiral form as the rest of the line — specially processed white oak bent far past what the material is normally willing to do, rising in a single continuous spiral. What changes here is everything that happens after the shape is won. The base is curly maple. Black stain goes down into the figure first, settling into the end grain and pulling the curl forward, so the wave in the wood reads as moving light rather than surface pattern. Over that comes a redish/orange-leaning burst, finished in the spirit of guitar making. The spirals themselves are finished in deep, unbroken black. Against the fire in the base, they read as pure lines. Three bottles rest along the spiral, tilted forward, labels facing the room. It is built to show wine off rather than to put it away. This is the only Apeiron currently finished this way.
