When it opened in 2012, it made Wales the first country in the world with a continuous footpath along its whole coast, tracing every headland, cliff and bay past castles, beaches and seabird colonies. The patch captures that wild coastal spirit with a puffin on a sea cliff beneath a lighthouse, a nod to the wildlife and landmarks that line the route.
