Louis XVI Parcel-Gilt Polychrome Demi-Lune Console Table

Faithfully recreated from a rare South Italian console attributed to Naples, circa 1800, this demi-lune table captures the elegance and intricacy of the original in every detail. The moulded Belgian bluestone marble top rests above a richly ornamented frieze, set against a deep blue ground and intricately carved with intertwining flowering branches. At its centre, a delicately rendered swan sits amongst twin roses — a motif emblematic of the period’s refined decorative language. Supported by six tapering fluted legs, each headed with acanthus capitals and terminating in finely detailed scale-carved feet, the piece is finished in a harmonious palette of red, gold, and green, echoing the original polychrome decoration. Handcrafted using traditional techniques, this piece offers the presence and spirit of an 18th-century original, reinterpreted with exceptional care for contemporary interiors.
