This 1966 Gibson J-50 delivers a punchy, slope-shoulder sound in a well cared for '60s package. Featuring a crack-free Sitka spurce top over mahogany back and sides, this J-50 has a quick, bright response while still delivering that iconic Gibson slope compression, making it an excellent strummer/fingerstyle payer and perfect for vocal accompaniment. The adjustable bridge, as designated by the ADJ in the model name is something Gibson started in the mid-50s, is fully functional and makes adjusting the saddle a breeze. 1 9/16" nut width, while slightly narrower than earlier J-50s, feels comfortable in the left hand thanks to a Mass Street setup. Stamped as factory 2nd, you'll be hard pressed to find any sort of factory issues in this J-50. It's possible there was a finish flaw that has long since blended up with age and the familiar finish checking found on a vintage guitar. Here in Excellent condition for a 60-year-old Gibson this one is ready for the next player.
