Hermes Chaine d'Ancre Divine Diamond Cuff Bracelet in 18K Rose Gold, Size ST
The Divine takes the Chaîne d'Ancre motif — Hermès's signature since 1938 — and renders it as a rigid open cuff in 18K rose gold rather than a flexible chain. Links interlock across the full width of the band, each one pavé-set with round diamonds. 218 diamonds 1.57ct total weight. The band measures 12mm wide with a 26mm wrist opening at the back. Rose gold is doing real work here. Against white metal, dense pavé on a wide band can read as a solid sheet of light with no legible structure. The warm gold shows through between the links and keeps the anchor-chain geometry visible — you can still read the motif from a distance instead of just seeing brightness. The rigid construction matters too. A chain bracelet drapes and rotates; a cuff sits where you put it and stays there, which means the pavé faces up all day. It also means sizing is fixed. This one is size ST — Hermès's medium — and fits a wrist up to 6½ inches. The origin story is worth knowing. Robert Dumas took the motif from boat anchor chains he saw on the Normandy coast in 1937. Hermès made the first silver version the following year. Nearly ninety years on, it's still the house's most reproduced design.
