Tiny Dancer (Print)

Warm where most of her work is cold. Tiny Dancer is built in rust and burnt umber on a bone ground, with black rulings scored across it in both directions — a lattice that never quite closes. The paint is dry-brushed and dragged, so the weave shows through everywhere and the whole surface reads as worn rather than finished. It sits well in a room with wood and warm light. The rawness of Iceland's nature has a considerable influence on my art, and the cold and dark everyday life also evokes a joy of color in my artworks.
