Suzani Pillow - Marigold Rosette

This beautiful hand embroidered suzani fabric is sourced from Uzbekistan. We cut and sew the pillow by hand in our Houston workshop. One of a kind.A marigold ground carries a central rosette medallion in crimson, blue and cream, ringed by blossoms inside a dotted border. The reverse is indigo and cream ikat with yellow dots. The face is embroidered in cotton and silk and a feather down insert is included. One panel, one pillow, no repeat.Suzani takes its name from suzan, the Persian word for needle. In the Silk Road towns of Uzbekistan the panels were embroidered by hand by a bride and the women of her family, and carried into a new household as part of her dowry.Size: 19" x 19"
