While the piece is glazed, the coarse clay may absorb food colors and odors more readily during the first few uses. It is recommended to start with light-colored or mildly scented foods. If food is left in the cup for a long period, colors and odors may penetrate the crackle glaze. To prevent this, it is recommended to apply a "sealant" treatment before use. As each piece is handmade, slight variations in color, shape, and size may occur compared to the photographs.
