Medusa Statue

A "beautiful" depiction of Medusa, one of the most enigmatic figures of the Gorgon sisters, once a beautiful maiden and whose transformation into a monstrous being served as a cautionary tale of divine wrath and mortal consequence. This statue departs from the classical Greek Gorgon, and recreates her as a hybrid entity. She still holds her legendary lethal gaze, serpent coils surrounding her head. But instead of legs, she has the body of a snake from the waist down. This statue captures the cursed maiden's tragedy with the intersection of human and serpentine form. Cold cast bronze with hand painted details. Overall: 8-3/4” tall, 5-1/8" wide, 4-3/8" deep
