Refrontolo Passito
Colli di Conegliano Refrontolo Passito DOCG is an Italian raisin red wine produced with a minimum of 95% Marzemino grapes. The production area, in the province of Treviso, is very limited, within the municipalities of Refrontolo, Pieve di Soligo and San Pietro di Feletto. After the late harvest, the bunches are left on racks until Christmas week to achieve greater concentration. After vinification, it matures in small oak barrels with monthly racking until a clear wine is obtained, ready to be bottled in early spring. The final product is a lively dessert wine, or conversation wine, sweet but not cloying, rightly tannic. Tasting Note : This is a unique wine, different from all other produced in this area. It is a dessert wine, for conversation or meditation. The color is ruby red, with violet notes. The aroma is intense reminiscent of ripe fruit, mostly of blackberry and cherry. The palate is luscious with a rich honeyed texture.
