Royal Doulton Character Jug 'Fat Boy' D5840

Collectible Royal Doulton mid sized character jug, Fat Boy. Fat Boy was modelled on Joe, a character from Charles Dickens' The Pickwick Papers. The character was designed by Harry Fenton and Leslie Harradine and produced from the late 1930s through to the 1950s. Number D5840 with Royal Doulton post-war stamp and 'A' mark. These jugs are the smaller character jugs (head only as opposed to the full body toby jugs) produced by Royal Doulton for over 60 years and are highly collectible. Suitable for decorative display as well as functional use if desired. In excellent vintage condition.
