12 Conversations(CD)

This work was constructed by taking the tracks from 坂本龍一’s album *12* (2023) as a starting point, with both artists responding to and intervening in each track.By being expanded, transformed, and reconfigured, the sounds acquire new contexts. Within the relationship the two have built over many years, they receive, add to, and alter each other’s sounds, transforming them—at times boldly, yet always with great sensitivity. This process is underpinned by deep trust and an open spirit of experimentation. As the title “Conversations” suggests, this work is not merely a record but was conceived as a space where memory and visions of the future intersect.An endless creative dialogue where past, present, and future continually intersect. The album features 16 tracks and was mastered by Bo Kondren at Calyx Mastering in Berlin in 2026. “Conversation 7” features the voice of Emma Maeda and quotes Rainer Maria Rilke’s “The Primordial Sound” in its liner notes. This work is not merely an archive; it is a testament to the fact that the dialogue between the two continues even now.
